Solar and UPS power stages
Boost and filter chokes where the standard 25 A limit is not enough, built with multi-strand copper on larger powder cores.
Enquire nowCatalogue values rarely match a new power stage exactly. As a custom toroidal inductor manufacturer, NG Electronics designs the part around your circuit: inductance between 1 µH and 50 mH, current beyond the 25 A of the standard range where needed, and a mechanical format that drops onto your board or chassis. The work is done by our own team in Pune, from core selection through winding to final test.
A made to order toroidal inductor is defined by a short list of numbers. We ask for the inductance required at the working DC bias, peak and RMS current, operating frequency, the temperature rise you can tolerate and the footprint or height limit. With those five items an engineer can pick the core material and size, the number of turns and the wire, and tell you plainly if two of the requirements conflict.
Custom toroidal coil winding here covers single and multiple windings, heavy-gauge wire and multi-strand copper, on semi-automatic toroidal winding machines. Finished parts can be supplied in through-hole, SMD, chassis-mount or flying-lead form. NG Electronics is an ISO 9001:2015 certified company, and production lots are 100% electrically tested, with batch records that trace each lot to its raw material and production date.
ISO 9001:2015 certifiedThese limits describe what we can wind and test. The electrical values of your part are fixed in the technical quotation and confirmed on the sample.

Custom parts are needed wherever a standard value, rating or footprint falls short. Four kinds of project illustrate the range.

The most useful single figure is inductance at bias: the minimum value the circuit needs while the full DC current flows. A zero-current inductance alone can be met by a core that has lost most of its inductance at load. Peak current tells us where saturation must not occur, RMS current sets the copper cross-section, and frequency together with ripple amplitude determines core loss and therefore the choice of material.
Core selection then follows the duty. Iron powder covers cost-sensitive DC chokes; Sendust, MPP and High Flux serve lower loss or higher bias needs; high-permeability ferrite and nanocrystalline rings suit common mode and low-bias filter windings; an air core avoids saturation altogether where only a small inductance is needed. As a toroidal choke manufacturer in India working with all of these materials, we can recommend on performance and cost together.

Custom work succeeds when the people who design the part can walk over to the machine that winds it. NG Electronics, established in 2017 by founder and director Nishant Gaikwad, keeps design, winding and testing together at Chimbli, Pune, with a team of 50+. Design support is free against firm production intent, so the engineering time that turns a requirement into a buildable part is not billed separately in that case.
Quality is controlled by an ISO 9001:2015 certified system. Test equipment on site includes LCR testers, impulse testers, insulation breakdown testers and power analysers, and a test certificate accompanies the order when you ask for one. Minimum quantities are kept flexible so a project can start with one prototype, move to about 10 pieces for trials and then to production lots, typically 100 to 1,000 pieces. We deliver throughout India and are glad to hear from buyers abroad.

Answers about custom toroidal inductor manufacturer from NG Electronics, an ISO 9001:2015 certified company
Five items cover most designs: inductance required at the working DC bias, peak and RMS current, operating or switching frequency, the temperature rise you can accept, and the footprint or height available. Mounting style, lead length, insulation voltage and expected annual quantity are also helpful. If some values are unknown, send the circuit operating points and we will propose them in the technical quotation.
Custom samples are typically ready within 7 to 10 working days after the specification is settled. The technical quotation itself is issued within 24 working hours of your enquiry. The sample is provided free for lab approval, so you can check inductance under bias, heating and mechanical fit in your own assembly before committing to a production order.
MOQ is flexible. A single-piece prototype is possible for a custom design, and about 10 pieces is usual for R&D and pilot builds. For regular production of custom parts the minimum is typically between 100 and 1,000 pieces, depending on the core and winding involved. Tell us your expected volumes when you send the specification so the quotation reflects them.
We work with ferrite, iron powder, MPP, Sendust, High Flux and nanocrystalline toroidal cores, and can also make air-core coils. Powder cores suit inductors that carry DC because their distributed gap resists saturation. High-permeability ferrite and nanocrystalline cores suit common mode and filter windings with little net DC. We suggest the material after reviewing current, frequency and loss targets.
No, provided there is firm production intent behind the enquiry. In practice our engineers review your specification, select the core and winding, and prepare a technical quotation without a separate engineering fee when the part is intended for production. The first sample for lab approval is also supplied free. Commercial terms for the production lot are set out in the quotation.
All production units are electrically tested for inductance, DCR, Q factor, saturation current and hipot, using LCR testers, impulse testers and insulation breakdown testers at our Pune facility. Batch records link each lot to raw material and production date. A test certificate is supplied on request, and RoHS and REACH certificate copies are likewise available on request.
