NG Electronics designs and manufactures ferrite core transformers for high frequency power conversion at our ISO 9001:2015 certified facility in Pune. Our range covers SMPS transformers, flyback transformers, forward and push-pull designs, gate drive and isolation transformers, and custom ferrite transformers built to your topology, turns ratio and creepage requirements.
We wind on EE, EF, ETD, EER, UU, RM, PQ and toroidal ferrite cores, in power levels from under 1VA up to several hundred watts. Every ferrite transformer is wound, taped, varnished, tested and batch-recorded in-house — which means when you need a design change, you talk to the person who will actually make it rather than waiting on a supply chain.
As an Indian ferrite transformer manufacturer, we help OEMs cut import dependency on switching transformers that too often arrive late, arrive different from the sample, or stop being available mid-production.
Find answers to common questions about our Ferrite Core Transformers
A ferrite core transformer is a transformer wound on a ceramic ferrite magnetic core rather than laminated steel. Ferrite's high electrical resistivity keeps eddy current losses low at high frequency, which allows the transformer to operate efficiently at 20kHz to 500kHz and therefore be far smaller and lighter than a 50Hz equivalent of the same power rating.
Iron or silicon steel core transformers are designed for mains frequency at 50 or 60Hz and are physically large for their power rating. Ferrite core transformers are designed for high frequency switching, typically 20kHz and above, where the reduced core volume makes them dramatically smaller and lighter. Ferrite has lower saturation flux density but far lower loss at frequency, which is the trade that makes SMPS design possible.
NG Electronics manufactures ferrite core transformers at an ISO 9001:2015 certified facility in Pune, supplying SMPS transformers, flyback transformers and custom high frequency transformers to OEMs across India. Design, winding, varnishing and testing are all done in-house.
An SMPS transformer is the high frequency ferrite transformer at the heart of a switch-mode power supply. It transfers energy from input to output while providing galvanic isolation, and its turns ratio sets the voltage conversion. Because it runs at switching frequency rather than mains frequency, it is a fraction of the size of a linear supply's transformer.
A flyback transformer is technically a coupled inductor: it stores energy in the core gap while the switch is on, and releases it to the secondary when the switch turns off. This makes it ideal for low to medium power isolated supplies, typically up to around 150W, and it is the most common topology in adaptors, chargers and auxiliary supplies.
